Quiet Your Inner Critic
A Guided Hypnosis for Self-Worth & Self-Compassion
You decide what you want.
You get excited about the possibility.
Maybe you even start imagining what it would feel like to actually have it.
And then another voice joins the conversation.
That'll never happen.
Who do you think you are?
You're going to screw this up.
Be realistic.
You're not good enough for that.
That's your inner critic.
And if that voice is constantly arguing with the future you're trying to create, it can become very difficult to stay aligned with it.
What Does Your Inner Critic Have to Do With Manifestation?
Quite a lot.
Manifestation isn't simply deciding what you want and thinking about it occasionally. Your beliefs, expectations, emotional patterns, choices, and actions all affect the direction you move in.
Your internal conversation is part of that.
You might consciously believe something is possible while simultaneously running an internal commentary telling you all the reasons it isn't.
And that commentary can affect far more than how you feel.
Imagine getting an idea to contact someone, apply for something, start a project, ask for an opportunity, change direction, or put yourself out there.
Maybe it's one of those little dings I talk about, an idea or internal nudge that could potentially move you toward what you're trying to create.
Then the inner critic arrives.
They won't be interested.
You'll embarrass yourself.
You're not qualified.
Why would they choose you?
And suddenly you don't take the action at all.
That's one of the ways an internal voice can quietly influence the life you're creating.
The Goal Isn't to Tell Yourself You're Perfect
Quieting your inner critic doesn't mean replacing every negative thought with I'm amazing! Everything I do is wonderful!
Sometimes criticism contains useful information.
Maybe there really is something you want to do differently.
The question is whether beating yourself up is necessary to make that change.
In this hypnosis, you'll practice noticing that critical commentary instead of automatically accepting it.
You'll begin asking:
Is this true?
Is it helpful?
Is this something I actually want to change?
And if it isn't, do I need to keep giving it my energy?
If there is something you'd genuinely like to change, you can make that decision without shame.
And if there isn't, you can begin practicing something equally important:
letting the criticism go.
What You'll Experience
During this guided hypnosis, you'll work with the way you speak to yourself inside your own mind.
You'll practice recognizing when your inner critic appears, interrupting harsh self-talk, questioning what it's saying, and deciding whether its criticism deserves your attention.
You'll also begin using those moments as reminders to notice what's already good and true about you, what you're working on, what you've learned, and what you're doing well.
The goal isn't to never have another critical thought.
It's to stop allowing that voice to run automatically in the background as though everything it says is true.
Because the voice you live with most is your own.
And when that voice becomes more accurate, respectful, and supportive, it becomes much easier to recover from mistakes, take chances, receive good things, follow your dings, and keep moving toward the life you're trying to create.
Find somewhere comfortable where you won't be interrupted, close your eyes, and give yourself the full session.
Please don't listen while driving or doing anything that requires your full attention.
