The Yes Set
A 31-Day Manifestation & Alignment Journal
What if you could use a simple hypnosis technique to help your subconscious become more receptive to the life you're trying to create?
That's the idea behind the Yes Set Journal.
Instead of filling pages with affirmations that may feel completely disconnected from your current reality, you're going to mix things that are absolutely true right now with things you want to become true.
You might write:
I'm sitting on my couch wearing my blue shirt and drinking a cup of tea. I can't wait for Ozz to get home because we're going to wander into Centro and try a new taco place.
At the time I am actually sitting on my couch. I am wearing a blue shirt. And I am drinking tea.
But wandering into Centro for tacos?
I was still living in Canada.
That's the Yes Set.

What Is a Yes Set?
A Yes Set is a technique used in hypnosis.
The basic idea is surprisingly simple.
You begin with several statements that are unquestionably true.
You're sitting in a chair.
You're reading these words.
You're breathing.
Your mind doesn't have anything to argue with.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Then you follow those truths with a suggestion.
In hypnosis, this pattern of agreement is used to make the mind more receptive to the suggestion that follows.
For this journal, we're borrowing that same idea and doing something a little different with it.
We're creating a written Yes Set for the life you're manifesting.
How Does Yes Set Journaling Work?
You're going to write about your day.
Some of it will be completely true.
Some of it absolutely will not be.
The trick is to weave them together.
Start with three or four ordinary things that are actually true, then slip in something you want to experience as though it's simply another part of your day.
Then continue.
For example:
This morning I fed the cats their Licky Things, made Ozz coffee and worked for a little while. Then I spent the afternoon swimming in the pool and lying in the sun. I'm getting a really good tan!
Three things might be true.
One isn't true yet.
And that's the point.
You're creating a rhythm of:
True. True. True. Desired reality.
Then:
True. True. True. Desired reality.
The goal isn't to write an entire fantasy about your future. It's to weave pieces of the life you want into the life your subconscious already recognizes as real.
Why Use the Yes Set for Manifestation?
When I use a Yes Set in hypnosis, I begin with things the subconscious can easily agree with before introducing the suggestion I actually want it to consider.
That's what we're playing with here.
You're giving your subconscious a string of easy yeses and then weaving your desired experience into that same stream.
And there's another important piece to this.
For 31 days, you're repeatedly thinking about, imagining and emotionally experiencing the life you want.
You're noticing details.
You're imagining conversations.
You're seeing places.
You're feeling experiences.
You're mentally spending time inside that life.
Rather than continually rehearsing what you don't want or worrying about whether your manifestation is happening, you're deliberately spending some time rehearsing what you do want.
And repetition gives that imagined life a chance to become increasingly familiar.
Make It Feel Real
Don't just write:
I have a pool.
Give yourself something to experience.
The water was cool when I first got in this afternoon, but after a few minutes it felt amazing. I floated around for a while, then climbed out and stretched out in the sun.
What did you see?
What could you hear?
What did the air smell like?
What were you wearing?
Who were you talking to?
What did you eat?
What did your body feel like?
And especially:
How did it feel to be you in that life?
Relaxed?
Free?
Safe?
Excited?
Successful?
Loved?
Peaceful?
Let yourself feel it for a minute.
You're not only writing words. You're practicing the experience in your imagination.
What If It Feels Like I'm Gaslighting Myself?
It might.
Especially at first.
You know perfectly well you don't have a pool.
Your bank account does not contain the amount of money you just wrote about.
You are definitely not drinking margaritas on your terrace in Mexico because you can see snow outside your window in Canada.
That's okay.
You're not trying to convince your conscious mind that you suddenly can't tell fantasy from reality.
You know which parts aren't true yet.
This is an intentional imagination exercise.
So have fun with it.
In fact, this is probably the kind of journal you don't want someone finding without an explanation.
"Linda doesn't have a pool. And what taco place in Centro? Has she lost her mind?"
Nope.
Just programming.
A Few Simple Rules
Keep the pattern simple. Write naturally rather than making every entry sound like a list of affirmations.
Use three or four true statements, then weave in something from the life you're manifesting. Go back to things that are true, then add another desired experience.
Make your true statements genuinely true. They're what create the Yes Set.
Make the manifestation pieces specific enough that you can imagine them.
Use your senses.
And whenever you can, feel into the experience you're describing.
Most importantly, don't spend the whole exercise checking whether you believe it yet.
Just write.
Your 31-Day Yes Set Journal
I've created this fillable virtual journal so you can experiment with the Yes Set for an entire month.
Each day, you'll take pieces of the life you're already living and weave in pieces of the life you're creating.
Some entries may be practical.
Some may be ridiculous.
Some may surprise you.
And some may eventually become true.
True. True. True. Desired reality.
Then do it again tomorrow.
From Chats with Witchy
I created the Yes Set Journal from something I actually did while I was trying to manifest a completely different life during a time when much of the evidence around me seemed to say it wasn't going to happen.
You'll hear more about that in Chats with Witchy: The Show, where I talk about what I actually did when my vision and my circumstances appeared to be telling two very different stories.
